[TOOLS.INI_VARIABLES]
This section describes the WZMAIL variables that may be set in TOOLS.INI.
There are no default values for HOST ALIAS DEFDIRECTORY and HELP.
A complete list of variable and some suggested values are at the end of
this section.
Lines beginning with a semi-colon in TOOLS.INI are treated as comments.
Set HOST to the XENIX box that is your mail host
Set ALIAS to your XENIX login name
Set DEFDIRECTORY to the name of an EXISTING directory that will be used
to complete folder names that do not contain a \.
Set HELP to the FULLY QUALIFIED name of the WZMAIL.HLP file
If you want the alias file, ALIASES.HAS, to be stored somewhere other than
the default initialization directory where TOOLS.INI is stored, then
set ALIASES.HAS to the fully qualified pathname of where you want the
file stored, e.g. on a network drive G: in directory \MYNETDIR
ALIASES.HAS=G:\MYNETDIR\ALIASES.HAS
Set DEFFOLDER to name of your default mailfolder, if the name does not
contain a period, then .fld will be appended, if name does not contain
a \ then folder is in the default directory
Set EDITOR to your favorite editor, include switches if needed. The
editor should be on your PATH
Set HEADERS to the headers command you want invoked when WZMAIL is started.
If you want the phone list, PHONE.LST, to be stored somewhere other than
the default initialization directory where TOOLS.INI is stored, then
set PHONE.LST to the fully qualified pathname of where you want the
file stored, e.g. on a network drive G: in directory \MYNETDIR
PHONE.LST=G:\MYNETDIR\PHONE.LST
Set PRINT to a command line for printing, %s represents name of file
containing messages to be printed
e.g.
PRINT=ppr %s
Set RECORDFOLDER equal to the name of the mailfolder you want to get a
copy of all successfully sent messages. Undefined or null implies
no recording.
SHELL is the name of the command interpreter invoked by the shell command.
If not defined the default is determined as follows. If COMSPEC
is defined it is the default and if COMSPEC is not defined then
command.com is used.
SHELLSWITCH is the switch used when invoking the shell command with
arguments. If SHELLSWITCH is undefined and SHELL is determined using
th above defaults then SHELLSWITCH is "/c" else SHELLSWITCH is blank.
When the shell command is invoked with no arguments WZMAIL spawns
a command line
SHELL
When the shell command is invoked with arguments WZMAIL spawns a
command line
SHELL SHELLSWITCH <arguments>
e.g.
command.com
command.com /c arg1 arg2 arg3 ...
TOOLS.INI If you copy TOOLS.INI to a ram disk then set TOOLS.INI to the fully
qualified pathname of the HARDDISK location of TOOLS.INI. WZMAIL
will then put its current version in the harddisk file as well as
the ramdrive file when a new version of WZMAIL is booted.
WZMAIL.EXE If you copy WZMAIL.EXE to a ramdrive and run it from there, then
set WZMAIL.EXE to the fully qualified pathname of the HARDDISK location
of wzmail.exe. If you run WZMAIL directly from the harddisk, do not
set this variable, leave it as WZMAIL.EXE=
If you have UPDATEWZMAIL=yes, then the WZMAIL.EXE file location, as
well as the ramdrive location, will be automtically updated with
versions of WZMAIL.
WZMAILP.EXE Same as WZMAIL.EXE for OS/2 version.
XENIXDL - If you have an email alias file of the format
alias name1 name2 name3 ...
on your host machine and you would like it appended to your
[wzmail.dl] section whenever ALIASES.HAS is downloaded, then set
XENIXDL to the full pathname of the file on the host, e.g.
XENIXDL=/usr/danl/xenixdl
Each line in the file will be converted to
name1=name2 name3 ...
and appended to [wzmail.dl].
