  16. Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) is an industry
  17. specification for publishing and locating information about Web services. It
  18. defines an information framework that enables you to describe and classify your
  19. organization, its services, and the technical details about the interfaces of
  20. the Web services you expose. The framework enables consistent discovery of
  21. services or interfaces of a particular type, classification, or function. UDDI
  22. also defines a set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that can be
  23. used by applications and services to directly interact with UDDI data. For
  24. example, you can develop services that automatically publish and update their
  25. UDDI data, react dynamically to service availability, or automatically discover
  26. interface details for other services with which they interact.
  27. <p>
  28. UDDI&nbsp;Services
  29. is a Microsoft&reg; Windows&reg;&nbsp;.NET Web service that provides UDDI
  30. capabilities for use within an enterprise or between business partners. It
  31. includes a Web interface with searching, publishing, and coordinating features
  32. that are compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer&nbsp;4.0 or later and
  33. Netscape Navigator 4.5 or later.
  34. UDDI&nbsp;Services
  35. supports the UDDI version&nbsp;1.0 and&nbsp;2.0 APIs, enabling enterprise
  36. developers to publish, discover, share, and reuse Web services directly through
  37. their development tools and business applications.
