  16. Before you install Windows Datacenter Server, Limited Edition,
  17. print and read this document to get critical preinstallation
  18. information concerning this release. For the most up-to-date list of
  19. supported hardware, see the Hardware Compatibility List at the
  20. Microsoft Web site (http://www.microsoft.com/). In addition, print and
  21. read the following files located in the \docs folder on your Windows
  22. Datacenter Server, Limited Edition compact disc (CD):
  23. * Setup instructions
  24. * Release notes (relnotes.htm), which contain important
  25. compatibility and postinstallation information.

  34. Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) version 6.0 is not
  35. installed by default in new installations of Windows Datacenter
  36. Server, Limited Edition.
  37. To work around this issue, write unattended installation scripts to
  38. install IIS during Setup, or use SysOCMgr.exe to script IIS
  39. installation.
  40. 2.2 Upgrade Information
  41. ======================================================================
  42. You should attempt only clean installations of Datacenter Server,
  43. Limited Edition, as you cannot upgrade to this version from any
  44. earlier releases of Datacenter Server. Note, however, that you will be
  45. able to upgrade from Datacenter Server, Limited Edition to subsequent
  46. releases of Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Server.
