File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is used to copy files between two computers on the Internet. Both computers must support their respective FTP roles: one must be an FTP client and the other an FTP server.
You can configure your server to act as an FTP server. Client computers can then access the server with Windows® Explorer or an FTP command line program, such as ftp.exe, by typing the URL in the address bar in the format ftp://sitename/.
