Remote Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) is a bus-independent class specification for Ethernet network devices on dynamic Plug and Play busses such as USB, 1394, and InfiniBand. The remote NDIS component consists of network drivers for USB Ethernet devices that implement remote NDIS.
No configuration is required to use this component.
This component contains the drivers required to operate a Remote NDIS USB network adapter. A vendor-provided component is required to install such a device. This vendor-provided component must include the .inf file for the device. This component must specify a dependency on the Remote NDIS component.
For more information about how the remote NDIS component is part of the Windows XP driver development kit (DDK), see this Microsoft Web site.
